"We Fight. You Recover."
Opioids such as oxycontin and hydrocodone are highly addictive. In 2015, there were 91 opioid overdose deaths each day. Between 2006 and 2015, almost 5,000 Georgians died of a prescription opioid overdose.
Over 200 counties, cities and states across the country have filed lawsuits against opioid manufacturers and distributors. These lawsuits allege that drug manufacturers and distributors deceptively marketed opioids as safe and less-addictive.
Cities and county governments are not the only victims of the Opioid Crisis in Georgia. The children of those addicted to opioids face abuse, neglect, separation and even the loss of parents from overdose. Also, newborn babies of mothers addicted to opioids can themselves be addicted, suffering from Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome.
The Georgia children of parents addicted to opioids may have a claim for money damages against opioid manufacturers, distributors and others. If you know of a Georgia child who has suffered in the past or is suffering now as a result of the Georgia opioid crisis, please contact Bruce Edwards, Attorney-at-Law at (912) 384-5700 or at bruceedwardslaw.com for more information.
